Once a copy editor...

So, I'm an English geek, and proud of it. Welcome back shunn and thanks for a solid 15 minutes of rainy Tuesday work avoidance.

English Genius
You scored 100% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 86% Expert!
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

Super fun! Though I am confused by my results.

Apparently, I am, like you, an English Genius.

However, I scored higher than 0% on Beginner. Meh? I guess maybe that means I got a certain number wrong, and so did everyone else? Maybe it means that I understand higher grammar, but me like doesn't no da ez stuf. Beats me. At least I got 99% on the rest :)

Hooray for smart, grammar-minded readers!

Yeah, the scoring doesn't make a lot of sense. Obviously designed by a grammar expert, not a statistician!

I was just saying to my friend that maybe I will make one up about NYC history, geography, and transit! It would be fun. Though that site bugs me (it's so... so... cute!), but I guess making tests on it is easy.

Ken, you must have taken the test early. As more people take the test, your relative scoring changes.

I don't understand the scoring at all -- what does 35% intermediate and 63% advanced even mean? And what do they have to do with age and gender? I think the two you missed were the hardest on the test, and I flunked "awhile" by the test's standards because I consider "awhile" colloquial usage rather than a word I'd allow outside of quoted conversation. But I don't understand how missing one, or two, questions like that should qualify you as a 35% on intermediate. Seems like it should be 100/100/100/90 or something like that.

What would you rather be -- a writer or an editor?
