Several Shows Coming Up
Fall is coming in like a lion, at least as far as performances. On Saturday, I'll be doing another Connecticut gig with Pat Wictor this coming weekend, at the Ledyard Fair. We are apparently going on just before the pie eating contest, which "is open to all ages and is worth the mess!" I played with Pat in July at another county fair, which was a blast.

Next Wednesday, it would be worth finding your way out to Red Hook and staying up a bit late for a weeknight to see Tone Johansen's spectacular set of Norwegian jazz and folk tunes. This will be at Sunny's Bar, a hundred-year old tavern in Red Hook, run by Tone and Sunny Balzano. It's free.

And, Mike Skliar and I will be back with another show on the Upper West Side, on Tuesday, October 11. Details about all of these are on the shows page.

Aw! Wish we could come. It'll be nothing but oom-pah bands for hubby and me this weekend. It's fall festival time here in Germany, and there's beer tents calling his name. I'll be the dumb American sporting the dirndl! :)

Have fun making music!

Ha! Well, polkas were the music for which the harmonica was designed; it was never originally intended for blues. Have fun at the festival!

How was the Ledyard Fair? No livestock pictures?

Haven't gotten the pictures off the camera yet, but we didn't spend much time at the fair. Just played the set, and then left the fair to find dinner. Which turned into an odyssey -- we drove to the town of Norwich, which is not a small town. However, they have only one restaurant and it wasn't open. So we left there and kept hunting and finally found a small Italian place. The show itself was as always a good time.

We seem to have had a lot of experiences like that too (can't seem to find a restaurant in a not-small town).
