Does Tonka Make a Version Of This?
I just had an eight-year-old "Ohmygodlookatthecoolmachine" moment downtown.

Urban assault vehicle.

(Snow melting dump truck, isn't it?)

Yeah, it's got to be one of those fancy snow-melters - wonder how much those cost?

I bet it's a real lot!

According to Taryn Duckett, of the New York City Department of Sanitation's Public Information office, the melters cost $200,000 each.

Oh well, I guess that's out as a father's day gift, then.

It ain't the melter that's spendy, I bet, but the front end loader you need to go with it. I didn't ask how much that was.

Well, the way my block always worked, if one person got an enormous snow-melting machine, someone down the street would buy the front-end loader. Of course, it made parking a little difficult...

Yeah, one guy gets the STS (Shuttle Transportation System), and the other guy buys the 5,000 horsepower, 0.007 miles per gallon Crawler-Transporter, and nobody can get their car down the street for two days while it's being parked.

I'd buy the Tonka version of it in a flash. You could hook it up to the icemaker and have a kind of post-industrial version of those Japanese water sculptures.

That would be really fun at parties.
