Spent the weekend repainting my office and rearranging things to make room for the new addition to my collection of harmonica memorabilia: the Harmonica Dalek (see right), recently acquired from a fellow member of harp-l. Photos here.

Wow! I didn't see the "before" photos, but the office looks terrific now.

Thanks! The before photos look like the after photos, only with dirty chipped off-white paint. And no harmonica stand.

We're kind of sorry your instrument isn't the concert grand piano: now that would be a musical ziggurat!

But those are pretty, shiny things: the microphones and harps. Nice paint job, too.

Actually, that would be the office, into which one could fit a ziggurat of concert grands. It would look something like the 21 Pianos show at the Winter Garden last year.

I'd make a comment about the harmonica stand being a strange purchase, but I just spent $475 on a goat.

Whoa! You could buy a lot of hot dogs with $475, and you wouldn't have to throw away the inedible bits.

Well, goats don't recognize the concept of "inedible."

Well, the good news is that the harmonica stand does not appear to be eating the shelf it's sitting on. The bad news is that the prospect of little harmonicas next spring seems fairly dim.
