Dancing Tourists
Photo_113008_002.jpgWe had a particularly good time at the Greenwich Village Bistro tonight, not least thanks to a bunch of tourists who stopped in, stayed for all three sets, danced and (I swear) did the wave. It was quite a contrast to Friday night, but both were great times. Saboteur Tiger (tonight's band) plays next on January 11, and I'm hoping Kate will do another gig just before Christmas.

Those ladies and gents look like they're having a fine time! Were you playing, or just along for the ride?

Playing, with a band called Saboteur Tiger. We play there roughly once a month.

Us out-of-towners know how to have a good time.

You're being anonymous again. Don't expect me to do the wave with you tomorrow night. :)

Aw mannnnnn... I was all set to act like a hick. I was even going to wear a Scrunchie. (Someone here at work last month mortified me by telling me that wearing a Scrunchie has been immortalized by Sex In the City as a mark of a non-New-Yorker. We don't get these memos in Vermont. I know I'm always sending out non-New-Yorker vibes, I just don't know exactly how.)

Sex In the City was created by a Maryland-born UCLA grad whose other claims to fame are Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place, based on the writing of a snotty suburban socialite from Connecticut, and starred a woman who was born and raised in Ohio. Not really a canonical reference for New York City, I don't think. Anyway you and I both went to high school with many real New Yorkers who wore scrunchies, didn't we?

(Wikipedia is good for some things.)
